Downland Opti-Lix Cattle Magnesium

Opti-Lix Cattle Magnesium is a high magnesium feed lick for all types of cattle at risk from hypomagnesaemia, commonly known as grass staggers.

Ideal for dairy and suckler cows and milking heifers on lush spring and autumn grass when the risk is higher. Benefits: 

• Very high sugar content makes it very palatable given added insurance stock will take readily.
• Highly available magnesium source to aid in the prevention of grass staggers.
• Supplies essential trace elements, including chelated zinc, to help balance potential deficiencies in grazing and forages and to maintain good stock health.
• Helps improve digestibility and intake of grazing and forages.
• Feed pre- turnout in spring and until staggers risk has passed and again in late summer/ autumn.
• Contains copper. Not suitable for sheep.

Instructions for Use:
Use as part of a forage based feeding system and o-er on a free choice basis. Consumption will be inuenced by the number of buckets per head of stock, forage availability and quality, other feeds available, age of stock and proximity to water sources. Ensure ad-lib roughage and water are always available. When feeding outdoors, site over the grazing area and place away from the source of drinking water. Do not stack more than one pallet high.
Allocation rate: Allow one bucket per 15 head of cattle.
As a guide the expected daily consumption will be: Cattle: up to 300g/head/day.
